Damn thing.. deleted the entry I was working on, but anywho.
Wow.. This weekend had been tiring yet.. it's been incredible. Why? Cuz I went to my first con ever.
Saturday:
Mel and I decided not to dress up, so I just wore regular clothes. We got to the con and signed up and got our ID badges, and scoped out the place. We looked around for Antwan and checked the dealer room. Oh. My. God. Heaven. Pure. Anime Lovers. Heaven. Pocky, posters, artbooks, doujishi, manga, toys, videos, CDs, DVDs, stickers, t-shirts, plushies. So much stuff.. I like.. had to leave in order to not get sucked in. We found Antwan, along with Leo and Ryan and they had all got these cool IDs where you fill out this little card, and then this guy draws you chibi style. Antwan's going to scan it for me and I might use it as my LJ icon. I also bought these.. airbrush type pictures a CHii one, a Van and Hitomi one, a Belldandy one, a Vash one, and an Utena one for Rochelle. We hung out for awhile, while Melanie's dad watched some anime, and my sister did some Yu-Gi-Oh stuff. Antwan was so desperate for money, he wore a two signs saying "will beg for money". Very funny. I saw a lot of people in costume, including Priestess Yui and Miaka, Botan from Yu Yu Hakushu, some Vashs, some Wolfwoods, a male Sailor Jupiter, some GW people (including a TROWA!!!! Argh.. IEEE) andddd.. a Van. I was so surprised. I wanted to like.. chase after him and be all HUG O_O HUG HUGHUGHUGHUG! but he had a Hitomi with him, so damn. I also saw a Merle, an Auron, and a few others. (They had Relena on a chain.. ee hee hee!) Anywho.. Antwan got about $20 and even tried to KISS ME to get $5. I wanted to kill him. Argh. They had a DDR machine type thing set up later in the night, so I watched some people doing that. I was very impressed with their skills, and I want to be able to be as good as them. (Must practice!!) Diego, do you know any good songs and levels for a beginner? I want to be able to kick some ass at this! Anywho.. there was a concert, but we didn't go to it cuz the line was too long, so we watched some Cowboy Bebop, and watched people doing DDR. After they put up the DDR, they had karoake and Antwan signed me up to sign 'Yubiwa' from Escaflowne. I was like -_-( ) I hate you. These people up there who had the DDR and the karoake were from AnimeUTA, the anime club from UTA and they sounded like they were having a lot of fun and they looked it too. It was very amusing. After the concert, we were going to go to a dance, but unfortunately, it didn't start so we left. We were all exhausted.
Sunday: We decided to wear our costumes today, so we got all dressed up and ready to pose. We got up there around 10 or so, and brought donuts for the guys to sell. This one girl who was running the DDR machine ( she knew all the songs and was pretty good at it!) came up behind my sister (who was holding the donuts), sniffing like a dog. I was like Wtp o_O and she was like YOU HAVE DONUTS! We told her they were a dollar, so she ran to get money. God, people at cons are like desperate. Melanie and I went to a 'How to draw Manga' workshop, and I was really inspired. I'll have to work on my techniques, and I hope I can improve. Mel said she was inspired to draw too. Hee hee. After that, we hung around the dealer room, and I found a Real Bout High School poster!! I was like.. YES!!!! BUY BUY BUY! I bought that, and.. an FY artbook. I love it. It's soooo beautiful ;.;!!! Bless my mom for giving us $85 XD. Otherwise.. I woulda been screwed. After that.. we were ready to go. We were all tired and hungry and 'animed out', as Mel's dad put it. Melanie's dad was really cool, he even bought some manga, and watched Tenchi Muyo and Cowboy Bebop and more. I was like.. you are so cool. I can't wait to go to Akon. That is gonna rock. So yeah.. that was my first con. Not much, but I think it was alright for my first one. I can't wait to see what Akon is like.
